Silver Shield Report #18- What To Do When “It” Happens

Here are some very practical and possibly life saving tips on what you should do when the collapse, that you will not see on Doomsday Preppers. The recent popularity of this show is just the beginning of this information becoming socially accepted.  Unfortunately, this show does a great disservice to our aware community as it is essentially a negative reaction to a negative environment, instead of positive action towards a positive future after the collapse. By all accounts these people are Physically Prepared for the collapse, I feel that they are not the best example on how to prepare for the collapse.  This is besides the fact that they   break the Cardinal Rule of prepping!

In this Silver Shield Report I will lay out the mindset I feel will yield the greatest and most positive results in preparing for this collapse. Along with…

  • The most important preparation, no one is talking about.
  • The Marines 4 step plan.
  • Why we will have a head start on the rest of humanity.
  • Why where you are will depend on how much you need to prep.
  • The Moral way to Rebel and Prep.
  • The Hierarchy of Preparation
  • The Essentials to Have.
  • The most valuable things to have in the collapse.
  • Social Camouflage
  • And much, much more…

Great summary, Chris! A “How to Cover Your Basic Prepping Needs Course” in about one hour! By the way, an excellent source for certain prepping needs is http://www.cheaperthandirt.com

  • Bob

I enjoyed the audio and really took notice with regard to owning certain vehicles. Chris mentions a pick up truck – I like the idea of a mini van especially if I need a place to sleep in and travel at the same time. Both have practical value. I would imagine that a pick up would use more gas. Another good point was having a 2ND vehicle that utilizes Diesle fuel.

Anyhow – some real great points Chris. Alarming but prepared. Who would ever have thought that something like this would even be necessary in American – The Land of The Free (?).

    • Silver Shield

I have a minivan as it is the most practical choice of any vehicle maybe even in a survival scenario too..

  • Kyle

Great point Chris about silver investors getting an early warning from the markets! I also think there will either be big moves in the paper price which will give us a heads up that something big is about to happen, or real time pricing will be shut down and you won’t be able to get an accurate price or physical silver at all. Also enjoyed the picture Katie drew. When I first looked at it I got the impression that she thought it was worthless, which it soon will be. LOL!

    • Silver Shield

It was certainly odd after all of the other kids either wanted to give to the poor or buy more toys.

She just wants to make it rain… :)

  • J.D.

Chris, this was really a good informative audio. I personally have a problem having a concealed carry, this is what Germany had. (registration)If you know where the guns are registered, you know where the guns are? Hey, we have a 2ND admendment??? Enjoyed the list and seeing where I fall short. SEMPER FI, J.D.

    • Silver Shield

When this all goes down conceal and carry will be mandatory for survival.

    • lastmanstanding

J.D. if you don’t have a concealed permit and you are picked up with one…you are fucked…and depending on which state you live in, different extents…NONE GOOD.

When shtf…it may not matter. None of us like the onslaught of unconstitutional “rules” that we must live under but the end of the tunnel is getting closer.

    • AgainstTheGrain

In Georgia you get your firearms license and you just open carry 😀

  • Pete Bonicelli Jr.

Excellent!!! Get your rest Chris! Please thank Miss Katie For the Beautiful picture. Pete : )

  • J.D.

lastmanstanding, thx for the come back! “onslaught of rules”? Here in Oklahoma, there is a State Senator who is trying to change the “rules” to the consealed carry! SENATOR JERRY ELLIS SB 1556….CHECK IT OUT! Do you really think a conseal carry will make a difference when “IT” happens? Look up what Hilter did to the German people, wouldn’t it be handy to start with the c/c permits for confiscation? Also, have you been reading about the “DRONES”? 30,000 coming to your country! “GO DEEP MY MAN”!!!!

    • lastmanstanding

J.D. If you buy any firearm from a dealer, they know where you are and that you are armed…concealed permits were instituted for law abiding citizens to carry a concealed handgun to protect themselves, their families and their businesses…in a law abiding world, it is a courtesy for those in the law enforcement field. By checking, L. E. can find that you have a CCP, may be carrying and also know that you have a CLEAN record…police have a difficult time these days if you haven’t looked…no one gives them the benefit of the doubt, only a ration of shit regarding their job…police are being put in a very bad place these days and if you look at it objectively, you will find that the federal govt. is behind ALL of this crap. Police do as they are told as they need a paycheck just like you and I…i pray for their safety because they are here to help…contrary to popular belief.

Here in Mt. we can visibly (open) carry, we can have a handgun laying on the seat beside us, on the dash, anywhere in plainsight…to hide a handgun, you must have a CCP. if I was a cop, I would like a heads up to who’s who.

I have NO issues with law enforcement. I’m 50 and have never had a run in with the law because I play by the rules…I realize that not many of us do that.

As far as your senator goes…look who donates to his campaign and you will know exactly who he serves.

My SEAL buddy says,”don’t go down without one helluva fight.”

Excellent audio Chris. I hope you are feeling better. Take care of yourself.

I had to chuckle about your views on Doomsday Preppers. Personally, I think that show is ridiculous. I have seen the first two episodes and while I thought some of the preps were interesting, I found quite a few of the people to be rather annoying or short-sighted. Lots of “bunker mentality” going on in that show.

My favorite guy was the man in L.A. who was preparing for a major earth quake. He had the best outlook. He had some serious bushcraft skills and was a botanist. A very valuable tool to have in the coming shift. I also liked the fact that he ran two farmer’s markets and wanted to work wihin the community and WORK AND TEACH PEOPLE skills and nuture that community. That is what resonates with me.

Learning to work with others will also be a very valuable skill to have in the coming shift. What’s that saying? No man, or woman for that matter, is an island.

    Good stuff.

    Ben

  • Jeremy Goemaat

Jd, please tell me what agencies will be sending agents door to door country-wide to “confiscate” your firearms? 300+ million firearms in the u.s. ….. Right! I don’t know one gun owner who would give up his guns. There are already regions of several u.s. cities where police won’t go at night – that’s the last thing any law enforcement officer with a family would do. Look how many bad decades of PR came out of the relatively tiny Waco and ruby ridge incidents … it’ll never happen on a mass scale.

  • Cunning Linguist

Katie sounds like a chip off the old block to me. I’m surprised that you didn’t pick up on the fact that she threw “Gold Coins” up in the air and not Fiat paper money. Too funny.

Otherwise a great way for everyone to spend an hour of your day. Some useful info for a noob or an experienced prepper contained in your talk. Thanks again.

What are propane cylinder handle holders and where do you find them? I can’t even find a picture of these anywhere. Are these for the little 1 pound cans because they get to cold to hold while using?

  • J.D.

JEREMY GOEMATT, I THINK THAT YOU HAVE MISSED MY POINT. WHAT I AM SAYING IS “WHY” HAVE A CONSEALED CARRY PERMIT? WE HAVE THE 2nd AMENDMENT! DO YOU THINK WHEN THE SHTF EVERY GUN OWNER WILL RUN DOWN TO THE COURTHOUSE TO GET ONE? DO YOU THINK YOUR UNFRIENDLY GANG MEMBER WILL HAVE A C/C? DO YOU THINK THAT THE HUNGRY THIEF WILL HAVE A C/C PERMIT? “WHEN GUNS ARE OUTLAWED, OUTLAWS WILL HAVE GUNS”! LOOK, I LIKE YOU, BELIEVE IN HAVING GUNS. (2nd AMENDMENT)NO WHERE IN THE 2nd DOES IT SAY ANYTHING ABOUT APPLYING FOR A C/C! WE ARE TALKING ABOUT SHTF, OK!!! ALSO,I AM 62 YEARS OLD, FORMER MARINE, I KNOW THAT GETTIN A GUN FROM ANYONE IS NOT A PROBLEM. ASK CHRIS WHAT A WELL TRAINED (18-24 YEAR OLD) SQUAD OF MARINES CAN DO!
“NOT A PROBLEM”! STAY UNDER THE RADAR….LIVE TO FIGHT ANOTHER DAY! BUY FOOD, WATER,FILTERS, AND BUY ALL THE SILVER YOU CAN! LOTZ! LOVE YOU BROTHER, J.D.

  • MPB

My whole, immediate family (wife and kids) have been preparing for 4 + years now. We have always reviewed what we have done and probably will continue too. Much of what you talk about here (and on the list) we have, thankfully, already done and couldn’t agree with all more. Of course, not everyone will be able to do all these things or as much perhaps for various reasons — understandably. You do what you can. Still, as much as I appreciate all else you have done Chris, including, of course, educating people about Silver and more, this was one of the best reports I listened too and one I am glad you did it. Thank you! I am sure most others here can certainly appreciate it too. We (my family) have been stepping up our efforts to, VERY CAREFULLY – CAUTIOUSLY develop contacts with “like minded people.” Indeed, No man (or woman) is an island. Peace, MPB

  • MPB

PS, I hope you feel better soon! Thank you again for your all your efforts. Also, I think Katie’s picture is PERFECT! – I’d say she’s paying closer attention to you / your work than you may realize. Not necessarily a bad thing at all. (I know parents are concerned of overloading their children with info of lay ahead, etc. – we have our concerns too with ours) Katie is obviously a very bright kid! Peace, MPB

  • Ben

Woooo….getting a little testy in here.

I can see JD’s points, he makes some good ones, but Jeremy also has a few good points, I wonder about the logistics of firearm confiscation myself. There are also several members of LE groups that will not comply with that order.

Here is a thought. What I worry about more than gun confiscation is “knowledge confiscation”. There is a brushfire of ideas and truth out there on the internet and the PTB are trying their darndest to eliminate that threat…because that’s what it is…a threat. How long before sites like this one may be shut down? Is it coming? It would appear that congress and other nefarious organizations are trying to put the kibosh on free speech. We can’t have a little thing like truth and true knowledge get in the way of governing can we? Legislation like SOPA, PIPA and now ACTA will not go quietly into the night. If this comes down, you will lose a lot of people who are just starting to “get it”.

  • Cory Barnes

This guy has good steps to burying your items. It is a good way to protect it from the elements.

  • When TSHTF, it`s time for UNCONSEALED CARRY…..”Holster on the hip”, when the weak & unwary, ARE THE PREY. The old pickup, scruffy beard, & time worn clothes, I am well prepared with, already. The sooner the excrement encounters the oscilator, the better…Since the plan is to descimate the middle class, to make us poor, hungry, & desperate enough, to trade our liberties, for food & security…The longer we wait, the more that “the leaches”, suck out of the host

  • J.D.

RIGHT ON, RON!!! SOME GOT IT,SOME DON’T, AND SOME OF US ARE “FULL OF IT”!! You are “packed and potent”!!!!

  • Ben

Yah! Let’s just go out and slaughter our own countrymen!

    • lastmanstanding

I recommend that you start taking a look at your “countrymen”…unfortunately many of them have NO respect for your/our rights or the US Constitution.

      You or them…

  • Ben

    Lighten up Francis.

Apparently sarcasm is not in your zeitgeist.

  • Silver Shield

Guys I left the Barn door open and did not restrict the access to Just the members and that might explain some of the comments.

    It is shut now.

Thank you for the heads up.

I have so much going on it is easy for me to not click the button.

  • Tom Bloch

Chris, Great report, Thanks!! Looking forward to a webinar. It will be great to “meet” the rest of the group.
    Thanks for all the work.

  • Christopher Smith

Enjoyed the talk. Great tips on laying low and being inconspicuous during Anger phase. Liked the picture at the end…have 3 daughters of my own. Thanks.
