There is no tommorrow

Although there is much to debate and more to the story, this is a very interesting video:

An interesting video, worth watching and pondering. Taken at face value, “currently,” it presents a number of fact based points very worthy of consideration. My take, a rebalancing is coming to many of the issues presented.. Call it the law of nature, or what have you, a force is coming that will balance and relieve much of these issues. Will it be pleasant? HARDLY! It can be delayed for only so long. The longer the delay the more dramatic the correction. Become aware and prepare to lessen the unpleasantries.

Question: Weren’t the oil shocks of the 1970’s contrived by Henry Kissinger, Nixon, and company (the elite)?

Cause they depegged the dollar from Gold. From reading the book Currency Wars, by James G. Rickards, it is my understanding that the elite made their boy, Nixon, do this because there were more claims on Gold than there was actual gold, plus other nations were devaluing their currency against the dollar in a “beggar thy neighbor” economic policy where their exports would be cheaper compared to American goods and products.

This made foreign goods and products cheaper for Americans to buy, but made American made products more expensive, because the U.S dollar was now stronger compared to the currency of other foreign nations.

Just my two cents… I could be wrong…

Skekzyz – In the olden days, it was called Hemp. Not as much crossbreeding between Sativa and Idica, the industrial and medicinal uses are wide, as well as therecreation uses Its so easy to grow and has so many wide uses and hurts no one. I cannot even be facetious to say why it is illegal and so vilified by media and TPB; we all know, there are a myriad of reasons, and none benefit the populace.
MPB – I agree completely, only I would change the word “correction” in your post to “reduction”.
Irv – Yes, you are correct, and I noticed that as well. Rigging the markets to prop up the petro dollar does not take away from the peak oil diologue. Regardless of your perspective, the resources we use now are not infinite.

    • MPB

Rainmaker, I agree. I was trying to moderate my comment a bit and not come across overly severe. Of course, reduction is much more direct of what to expect is forthcoming – overall, unfortunately.

  • Rainman: This is a Very thought provoking piece from http://www.incubatepictures.com/index.shtml

It is great and hits on the areas where we should be directing our energies. Throughout the film there are issues that scream decentralization. This however is not what current world leaders are pushing for.

The depth and range of the questions brought to mind makes me believe Skekzyz may have had only one of the beneficial wonders of Cannabis in mind.

Most of the films arguments are based on exponential linear projections; in classic Malthusian tradition. Welcome to Al Gore’s dieing Polar Bears, the Club of Rome 101 and its conclusion:

“In searching for a new enemy to unite us, we came up with the idea that pollution, the threat of global warming, water shortages, famine and the like would fit the bill…. All these dangers are caused by human intervention, and it is only through changed attitudes and behavior that they can be overcome. The real enemy, then, is humanity itself.” – Global Warming, Climate Change Or Something Else?

    http://notionalvalue.blogspot.com/2010/01/global-warming-climate-change-or.html

That’s right the same good folks who decided that centralized global governance is a good thing (because it is going so well here and hey ask any Greek)are the same good folks who decided the earths population should be held below 1 billion. No bother, this should only prove a minor inconvenience for the other 6 billion.

See One Year Ago we asked: When it comes to global warming where’s the truth?

    http://notionalvalue.blogspot.com/2011/01/one-year-ago-we-asked-when-it-comes-to.html

Fact is Mans progress is ever upward; just not in a conveniently contrived hockey stick like chart. We rise, we fall. We develop new technologies and techniques. Do not get me wrong many of these issues must be addressed and they can be by rational ad hoc, decentralized means. Remember the propagandist greatest tool is fear. So fear is literally the only thing we have to fear.

In regard to the Malthusian argument at present the planet has 7 billion humans and, with or maybe somewhat because of the terribly wasteful 2000 mile salad, produces enough food to feed 9 billion yet over a billion go hungry from day to day and thousands starve to death. Conclusion: a planet populated by nincompoops who have allowed themselves to be directed by small group of of evil nincompoops who put personal gain above life itself.

“Human beings are the only creatures on earth that claim a God and the only living thing that behaves like it hasn’t got one. Does the world belong to no one but you?” – Rum Diaries

Its interesting you mention Malthus. One underlying social project I notice is how we have all been preprogrammed to accept is the de-population of the world is good, as if less people is better than more. I guess it might be better if you are part of the less left standing, however, your point, very well taken, is that it would suck to be one of those required to give his or her “all, for the greater good. Kinda like H.G. Wells “The Time Machine where in the future those above ground go willing like zombies down the rabbit hole on demand to be devoured by those that acheived a higher evolution that evolved underground. In the tradition of GB Shaw, Wells was a eugenecist that identified with those chosen to survive by way of higher evolution and the ability to devour those lower on the food chain.

All I can say is this. WHAT A DISGUSTING EVIL AMOUNT OF PURE CRAPPOLA. More people have always been better for the world and the other people in it. Less people, or dead people, have always been better for those few that were able to take the property of those that were murdered or killed or left to starve, or whatever way of “lessening” the population. Its like the Tragedy of the Commons, except the elite are the landlords, the government are the farmers and we are all the cows. The landlords are telling the farmers to cull the herd.

Hundreds of years ago, 80 percent of people worked 100% of the time to produce the majority of the food. Technology changed, efficiencies grew, and the percentage of people required to produce that food decreased dramatically. Thats because we had more people, and as a result more ideas, more innovation and the ability to spend more time on other pursuits, such as medicine, industrialization, etc., that allowed a higher standard of living for all (and more people too). Eventually, we came to exploit oil and the world changed (and populations grew even more)because of the new source of cheap energy. But thats not the end of the story, and neither is peak oil or loss of resources, which, if on our continued path, cannot support us infinitum. However, alternative technologies have been suppressed viciously so that a few can profit at the expense the populace. Poor Nikola Tesla, such a brilliant man. He had too good a heart and too lofty of aspirations. Lucky that they let him live to old age.

Regarding carbon tax and all this other crappola regarding global warming. A point I would like to make does not mean that global warming is not occuring and that mans impact has not affected it. Further, global cooling could just as easily be occuring except for a short period of warming. I could go on with this silly, argument forever, regardless of perspective. Perhaps other suppressed technologies would have diminished mans impact on the warming or cooling of the planet. Maybe we should be looking to those who suppressed those technologies to profit on oil? Perhaps man is so miniscule but arrogant as to think that we can have that great an impact on something so great and grand as the Earth, the Sun ,the Stars and the Universe.

Here is the point I think we are all missing. All this propaganda and the end result is that Carbon Tax is part of the lexicon in todays society. Its a sound bite that is beamed into our heads daily, that our children are taught in school, that our young adults have been indoctrinated to sing the praises of such a system, that our media trumpets as the holy grail for the future of civilization. What is man? What are people? Scientifically, PEOPLE ARE CARBON.

Perhaps we are living in the end time of H.G. Wells “The Time Machine”? The question is, who is living below the earth, believing in their own higher evolution and devouring the rest of us? Will we continue to go willingly like sheep to the slaughter?

I close with this: “Soilent Green is made of People”. Oh one other thing, Pitchman, I’d share a beer with you anytime.

  • Rainmaker; I have not read your response to my comment yet. First, Please accept my apology for addressing you as rainman. You know there was no intent, just my absent mindedness. The post is thoughtful covering issues we should all be engaged in… again thanks!!!

I just came off the ice and look forward to reading your response. No Pike or Walleye today but it was beautiful.

    • Rainmaker

You can call me Charlie Babbitt if you want. Someday, over that beer, I’ll tell you about my experience with LRon and his friends. What a fun ride that was.

  • I left a couple of Tip ups out and and checked on them after the Sun went down. Fish on; a little Walleye 16-17 inches. I sent him back through the ice. Maybe I can get him again when he has more heft.

“Tragedy of the commons” is new to me but it is the same principle regarding my concern when we stocked the lake with Walleye and Perch.

And now I sing to the choir:

Carbon Tax = Giant market that is all about central control, a device of manipulation and the transfer of wealth up to the top. It seems that is the mandate of all central government and banks! Cathrine Austin Fits Calls it the Tape Worm Economy.

“never in peacetime history has the government-media-academic complex been in such sustained propagandistic lockstep about any subject.” – George Will…

“The travesty is the intellectual arrogance of the authors of climate-change models partially based on the problematic practice of reconstructing long-term prior climate changes. On such models we are supposed to wager trillions of dollars — and substantially diminished freedom.” ~George Will, Washington Post…

“All these dangers are caused by human intervention, and it is only through changed attitudes and behavior that they can be overcome. The real enemy, then, is humanity itself.”” – Club of Rome…

“Thus they have a framework where it’s argued; global governance is urgently required, else we be drown by a 20 foot rise in sea levels and Iowa will become a baron waste land. Hey, you can’t tax Sun Spots, (what; the Sun could actually effect global temperatures?) Water Vapor, (by far the most abundant green house gas!) or Clouds? So, it’s carbon. Man made carbon! Yah that’s it. That’s the obvious culprit. Right!

“Why Pitchman, you must be some sort of conspiracy nut; a denier of Global Warming, Oh my, and probably the Holocaust too? Before you hurl that rock; instead of mimicking what you’ve heard (been told), I ask that you look into the issue. I neither deny nor confirm such phenomena; though, scientific research shows a ten plus year cooling trend; information that populist ‘scientist’ are scrambling to cover up, going as far as changing the name from Global Warming to Climate Change. Tricky PR minions, I suppose!….

Here is the truly sick part. Al Gore does not believe what he says.

Al Gore, member of the Club of Rome and the largest shareholder of Chicago Climate Exchange (CCX), which looks set to become the world’s central carbon trading body. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chicago_Climate_Exchange

Look beyond the soap selling news caster. Ask yourself; who stands to gain and who will foot the bill? Could there be a wider agenda?

If you ‘follow the money’ you usually get to the bottom of most of our social wows. Be it the financial crisis, healthcare, wars that need not be fought (including the war on drugs…) or illegal immigration; if you look beyond mainstream media drivel, you’ll find someone is making big money. It should come as no surprise, Banksters, Politicians, Bureaucrats and Transnational Corporations are in the thick of it.

Consider this. If there is an agreement on cutting carbon emissions through a Cap and Trade regiment, Al Gore will ‘conveniently’ become the world’s first carbon billionaire.”…

“What we have is a raw scramble for power. ‘Saving the planet’ is a farce, unattainable and unscientific. What is really coming is a one-world government.” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=stij8sUybx0
