Anaheim Anger over police shootings

I asked this question a while back and got flamed. Since I am a sucker for punishment I will ask it again. Watch the videos above then please tell me, when does the right of self defense begins? How much violence are you morally required to endure for the benefit of the state? Why can a police officer pepper a crowd with bean bag rounds (deadly at the ranges employed) without fear of violent retribution?

I don’t know what you expect people to say. Of COURSE people have “the right” to defend themselves. Both morally AND legally. But, again, so what? Might makes right. Anyone who says otherwise has never been hung by their wrists why electrodes were attached to their balls…or had a police dog snarling at them…or a Glock pointed at their heads.

George W. Bush was right about one thing. He said: “The Constitution is just a goddamned piece of paper.” Unless and until most of us realize that this is not true, then of course he is right.

Rights are nothing more than something we agree to. This idea that somehow they are mystical would be wonderful IF God would have our backs once in awhile. Of course, he doesn’t (neither does Santa, the tooth fairy, or Joseph Smith, for that matter.)

So the only way a “right” has any meaning is if it’s backed up by “might” (either immediate or reactive.)

I look forward to your response.

I’d show up with a paintball gun and if they start shooting, I’d start shooting. I bet they would end up pulling a real gun and actually start shooting.

There is an imbalance in power. When people start shooting back in groups things will deteriorate quickly.
