As far as physicians go, the majority of them earnestly want to help people, but they are in a box, defined and controlled by the establishment [like the public and the MSM]. The establishment controls what they know, what they perceive as truth and what they are willing to believe. Internship and Residency is kind of like boot camp. They are beaten down, exhausted and then they are molded into the image of the establishment. They are also kept functioning in that image by regulation, peer pressure, demands of insurance companies, lawyers, ridiculous lawsuits (that’s us), and the law. They don’t even have one general class in nutrition and its effects on health [only therapeutic diets]– this is foundational! Continuing Education provided free by the drug companies keeps them on the path as well as keeping them so busy they don’t have time to do much reading outside of the establishment. They are also want to keep themselves together and only associate as a group and often have not mingled with non-doctors [this may not be the case today but it was very much so in the past], this establishes and maintains group think.
There have been many “heretics” that have left the ranks after experience has created cognitive dissonance. One of my favorites is Dr. Robert Mendelsohn, and his “confessions of a medical heretic” and “How to have a healthy child in spite of your doctor”. All you have to do is open your eyes and be open to the truth no matter how painful. You can see alarming trends in death, damage and disease from medical treatments, just like in the 1800’s, alongside wonderful surgeries and saving of life; its almost a paradox. You can also see the concerted efforts to dissuade people from using natural approaches or alternative methods.
This “heretical path” is the path Dr. Hahnemann took. He couldn’t abide by the cognitive dissonance so he took the path that unbiased observation and careful experimentation lead him down, despite its painful and consequential results from many of his peers, utter rejection and chastisement. Yet he still continued; because he had opened a door he was driven to walk through, that unbiased and unconcerned observation, thrusted him through, and we have the gift of homeopathy as a result. How many other therapies that are truly gentle and most effective are we missing, because the status quo must be maintained at all costs? Even to the tune of millions per year who die from the status quo?
Don’t even get me started on the hypocrisy, double standards and injustice of this medical system, where millions die each year from unnecessary surgery, complications, hospital acquired infections, correct use of drugs, drug interactions, etc. etc. yet even if one were to fall ill or heaven forbid possibly die from a herb or “supplement” they (the establishment) want immediate action, regulation and removal from the market. How many years does it take to remove a hastily approved drug with high death tolls? Too long. [example: Avandia]; physicans are hard pressed to even attribute changes in a persons health to a drug (especially the sacred cow vaccines) it’s “old age” or something ridiculous like that; so more drugs are prescribed to take care of the new symptom as well. What a racket! This is all done under the convenient umbrella of “protecting the public”. This, my friends is a tyrannical and unjust mechanism. Why is it ok to die at their hands but not even get sick using another modality (even if you did it to yourself by not reading the label!). Why are we not the arbiters of our own destiny and in control of our own bodies and health choices? They believe again that we are the military; that we do not have sovereignty over our own bodies because of the “public good”. We do not possibly know enough about ourselves to make even a generally good choice for our health. They are the “experts”. What is that quote about an individual’s best choices for himself are better for society that the choice of a few for all.?
About vaccines, why do we have to use only their ideas, which involve more and more drugs? Like how about focus on health and improving the internal terrain of the body so it doesn’t support disease of any sort, not just reduce susceptibility to infections disease? I mean homeopathy was kicking the butt of those diseases many years ago – prior to antibiotics why can’t that be another choice we can make in acute conditions? Why should they have absolute say in what is “good” or “not good” for the public? It is only one very limited perspective on disease and health. “Public Health” is a leviathan and has woven its tentacles in all aspects of our lives (more of this soon because of the healthcare bill); now that the state is paying for our healthcare they control our bodies and what we can heal them with (just like the military men). They keep pushing and have taken the extreme view of “allowing” us only certain amounts of salt to be served to us at restaurants in certain places (thanks to the first lady). More and more control all under the wonderful umbrella of “public health”. They in reality should be in charge of public sanitation and that’s about it. Epidemics could be managed by physician/other modality cooperatives which share information on what essential oils, herbs, homeopathic medicines etc. are working or have worked on a similar condition in the past. We shouldn’t be limited by the drug companies to have them as the only answer to our medical problems; and if their answer doesn’t work we are SOL and have to accept death or injury as a result of “can’t do anything further” because nothing else is allowed public discourse. I refuse to accept that answer because I know it is not the only answer. I choose to live outside their box and not be limited by it.
And how about the sheer number of vaccines they are pumping into people? Surely, even if a single vaccine is ok for a person to detoxify, the antifreeze, mercury, aluminum, etc. in it, how about the cumulative effects of now 35 of them before they are teens (and more on the way and in development all the time)? What about the never leaving the body accumulation of these things? Not to mention the use of chicken, pig, human embryo, and other proteins that can trigger immune problems later or cross the human/animal barrier for disease because of direct injection into the body. These things should be questioned and investigated thoroughly before ANY new ones are added and maybe decrease them to pre-1980 levels to see if all these diseases (like autism etc.) decline.
If I only accept what I am told by the box of modern medicine and simply roll over in resignation I am missing a great opportunity to grow and with great hope even to heal myself if it is God’s will. This all seems like common sense to me now, but it is only because over time I have removed the fear programming they have put in place against choosing another modality for any reason. It’s almost like leaving an abusive relationship for a good one; it’s so different, so strange, so scary and suddenly I have to take the responsibility for my own health instead of always asking someone else. Your fear of the unknown can seem greater than the pain of the moment so you usually remain with the familiar no matter how great the suffering; we must break this. Many people also do not want to take any responsibility for their predicament. “ I don’t want to change how I live, just give me a pill”. This is a fatal mistake! The impatient and instant gratification society finds difficulty with what it takes to truly be well.
It takes great courage and fortitude to change, you need to find a support when those inevitable days of doubt come; and some cases are very appropriate for allopathic care, if you want you can “double check” with your doctor, but don’t expect any kind of encouragement. I had to read and learn and grow in my knowledge of myself and listen to my body. My medical training helped, but all those years of indoctrination and practice habits create a definite path in the brain and to create new paths, and allowing new ideas and methods to take root is like reformatting the hard drive of your brain; it’s very perceptible, takes work and can be difficult. But as I read more foundational material (Beuchamp, Naessens, Rife etc.) this made more sense to me and answered all the unanswerable questions of the current paradigm. It brought peace to my understanding and once I read the high levels of success of homeopathic remedies in the epidemics of the past, when antibiotics are failing at an alarming rate and we are told that we just have to accept it I say “rubbish”! Embrace the new medicine, which is the old medicine (take care of the body and it will take care of you) and breathe a sigh of relief.
But just to be clear about the agenda of the elite regarding us “common folk”, wars, vaccines and “health care”, you only need to listen to their own words.
“In order to stabilize world population, we must eliminate 350,000 people per day. It is a horrible thing to say, but it is just as bad not to say it.”
- Jacques Cousteau, 1991 UNESCO
“Society has no business to permit degenerates to reproduce their kind…. Any group of farmers who permitted their best stock not to breed, and let all the increase come from the worst stock, would be treated as fit inmates for an asylum…. Some day we will realize that the prime duty, the inescapable duty of the good citizens of the right type is to leave his or her blood behind him in the world; and that we have no business to permit the perpetuation of citizens of the wrong type.” [and just who do you think they believe the “right type” is? Certainly not us who would challenge their beliefs and actions! ]
- Theodore Roosevelt to Charles B. Davenport, January 3, 1913
“I do not pretend that birth control is the only way in which population can be kept from increasing… War… has hitherto been disappointing in this respect, but perhaps bacteriological war may prove more effective. If a Black Death could be spread throughout the world once in every generation survivors could procreate freely without making the world too full… The state of affairs might be somewhat unpleasant, but what of that? Really high-minded people are indifferent to happiness, especially other people’s… There are three ways of securing a society that shall be stable as regards population. The first is that of birth control, the second that of infanticide or really destructive wars, and the third that of general misery except for a powerful minority…”
- Bertrand Russell, THE IMPACT OF SCIENCE ON SOCIETY 1953
“In the event that I am reincarnated, I would like to return as a deadly virus, in order to contribute something to solve overpopulation.”–Prince Philip
“Depopulation should be the highest priority of U.S. foreign policy towards the Third World.” (this is for) reasons of national security, and because the U.S. economy will require large and increasing amounts of minerals from abroad, especially from less-developed countries … Wherever a lessening of population can increase the prospects for such stability, population policy becomes relevant to resources, supplies and to the economic interests of U.S.” —Henry Kissinger [this greedy man is truly imperialistic and evil; this is the basis of all our “aid to the third world; food for sterilization etc”.].
And now my personal favorite Bill Gates: “First we´ve got population. Now, the world today has 6.8 billion people. That´s headed up to about nine billion. Now, if we do a really great job on new vaccines, health care, reproductive health services, we could lower that by, perhaps, 10 or 15 percent [ that’s 900 million to 1.35 billion deaths they WANT TO CREATE using wars, healthcare, vaccines and purposeful plagues)!], but there we see an increase of about 1.3.”–Bill Gates (watch him say it for yourself here: www.youtube.com/watch This is the guy who is experimenting with vaccines he can aerosolize and spray everyone with (chemtrails anyone?). Anyone have a guess to his intent? Think about that next time you buy anything Microsoft makes; you are funding a man who wants to and is spreading death to the world. You fund your own ruin and demise. (He’s not the only one doing this just check out the council on foreign relations and all their supporters in the corporate world)
You can watch a video expose of our current White House Science Czar, Dr. John P. Holdren who wrote in his book, Eco-Science, that human population should be reduced to levels of around 1 billion. www.youtube.com/watch?v=SyK3o-fl27k&feature=player_embedded#at=43
History of Medicine: (from http://www.healingwatersclinic.com/articles/HistoryofMedicine.html)
1000 AD: — “Here, eat this herb.”
1700: — “That herb is an old wives’ tale; take this elixir.”
1900: – “That elixir is quackery; take this pill.”
1960: — “That pill doesn’t do any good; take this antibiotic.”
2000: – “That antibiotic isn’t safe [doesn’t work]; take this herb.”
The cycle is returning once again to more natural therapies because it’s obvious the others aren’t curative, only palliate (to ease symptoms) [even though they are the only ones who can claim that they can cure anything legally; what an irony!].
To observe without prejudice is to see mankind from a health perspective (especially western civilization) becoming progressively weaker with each generation under the current medical care paradigm, despite all the money thrown at it. Some of the broad spectrum problems include:
- More psychological problems;not taught coping techniques, or how to reason; identify and solve problems; our relationships are poor because we spend all our time plugged in, we don’t even know anything about our neighbors (in a good way; our relationships with them are limited in most cases), and the establishment’s answer is of course more drugs!
- There are vague and new diseases cropping up: Chronic Fatigue etc.
- Disease is more prevalent in the population (high rates of many chronic diseases, very rare is someone not taking some form of drug.
- Diseases are more resistant to treatment (antibiotic resistance)
- Chronic disease presents itself at earlier and earlier ages; our children will be less well than their parents or grandparents.
- Lower fertility rates; may couples are finding themselves unable to have children (many people would applaud this, but it is a sign of deterioration of general health).
These deteriorations can be explained by many things;
- The physical degeneration of our population according to Weston A Price’s “Nutrition and physical degeneration”; in other words you are what you eat e.g. “junk” and it doesn’t provide enough for health maintenance or regeneration (fertility).
- The consistent use of drugs that only palliate and do not fix the source of the problem, that in turn causes more disease.
- Chronic use of neurotoxins, pesticides, herbicides and its collective effect on us and our environment (toxic load)
- The negative effects of too much stress, limited contentment [cultivated by keeping up with the joneses] and not enough rest
- The effects of poor or diminishing relationships and waning support systems [using the state instead of forging our own support systems or becoming self sufficient – stress reduces the vitality of the immune system].
- The electromagnetic effects of high EMF fields we are constantly around every day adding stress to our bodies.
- Chronic gut problems; bad digestion, poor absorption, chronic inflammation; that are reducing the 70% of our immune system significantly.
There are more, but this gives you an idea.
This is a VERY BAD path we are on here. Logic tells us that based on the evidence we see before us (not what THEIR “research” shows; look before your eyes in your families etc.) our system is NOT working. Just like the economists who blindly say we are seeing “green shoots” and the economy is getting better; when in fact we are headed for financial Armageddon when the dollar dies. The debt load is mathematically unsustainable; its just a matter of time; so in healthcare modern medicine costs are rising to unsustainable levels when general health is worsening; where is the value here?
For breaks, emergencies; and patch up and go yes modern medicine saves many lives, but I’m talking about the meat and potatoes, daily stuff here. There is NO WAY we would have this kind of perverse health in the majority of the population if we were on the right path. We can barely even “function” without some sort of drug or pick me up [hence the popularity of stimulants of many kinds]. This sets my “spidey sense” off as a calculated plan to reduce the population by “slow death”, especially in light of the quotes above and with the concerted efforts to squash and denigrate any real answers; the continuous pushing of horrible vitality free foods and the food additives that are still unknown and untested that are pervasive in our “food supply”. Please view this chronic disease flow chart that stems from commonly added food enhancers e.g. MSG and its all encompassing heath ramifications. http://www.msgtruth.org/NEWUNIFIEDTHEORY.pdf Excellent source of info, by the way the research and notations are outstanding on this site.
So you see the fact that general health is getting worse is GOOD in their mind (the elite). The fact that more kids are dying from SIDS and VACCINE REACTIONS is GOOD in their mind and actually an achieved goal. The fact that we have younger and younger kids crippled with chronic disease is GOOD in their mind, which means they won’t live as long as their parents and grandparents.
So the Fed Reserve banking cartel started their destruction by addicting everyone to debt so they can pull the rug out from under them and take all their assets when they know they can’t make the payments (real capital for spontaneously created worthless money). These are loan sharks if I ever saw any. The people have then endless work to pay off the debts; there is added stress to marriages, bankruptcy, and poor health.
The Food-Industrial-Complex/AMA started our health destruction by hooking people on the “quick fix/convenience” mentality for both food and for disease; as long it tastes good; it must be good for you and long as the bothersome symptom is gone I’m fine, only to find that the your body can’t function normally so that disease has entered your life and progressed unabated and that chronic debilitating problems are their rewards (plus those added by the drugs themselves). Those pesky things like major diet change and exercise can’t be done; we don’t have time for that. Being too busy to do what you ought is being B= buried U = under S= Satan’s Y = Yoke.
The Elite addicted the populace on freebies from the government so it would grow into what it is today; on promises that will not and cannot be kept, but the promises keep them in power when they know there will be an end to the gravy train. And then when so many are dependent on payouts they will do anything for a loaf of bread and a shelter, no matter how crude or poor quality. This never ends well, but like any addiction it can be broken if you have the willpower, and desire for it to happen.
Unfortunately the poor food quality is mostly the consumers fault. We demanded bread that lasted a month so it didn’t spoil in the store or in a quick amount of time at home; no matter what the chemicals in it did to hurt our bodies. We liked it! It’s our fault that we have to have “perfect” fruits and veggies; absolutely no bug holes allowed. That is not appealing! So they are laced with so many neurotoxins (that is how they kill the bugs) we have exploding neurological disease. And now even that isn’t enough as nature again is reacting in equal and opposite ways to maintain equilibrium; you kill more pests and upset the balance; nature finds a way to make more or so that they can’t be killed (because even the bugs serve a purpose in the circle of life). It’s all about balance in our bodies, in nature, in the world. I can accept a few bug holes, I can grow and make most of my own food. It is worth while to do those things when considering the alternatives. I’m not advocating throwing it all out, just balancing it, be sure you’re getting enough of the raw and good stuff your body NEEDS TO FUNCTION, otherwise you can be guaranteed to get disease. You ‘pay’ now and feel more vigorous alive and strong or you pay later and get disease. Really there is no other alternative that will work. So you could say this is the grand reawakening to our own stupidity (there are things that should NOT change – eating “real” food). We want what we want because it feels good, tastes good or because of the effects of marketing, thanks to Edward Bernays; creating a feeling of need; when there is actually none.
So by ignoring our TRUE needs (self financial security, good health, healthy relationships) we are constantly running after the things the establishment media tells us we ‘need’ to be happy- going deeply into debt to do so (enslaved by the bankers) and becoming progressively weaker in our relationships because we have to work more hours to pay the debts and lose precious time with friends, neighbors and loved ones. And become progressively weaker in health (dependence on convenience foods since are tired when get home, no time to get local foods at farm market, taking pick me ups etc.). This relationship piece is why the Amish refuse to “plug in”. If it takes a community to do something, they stay together and connected, relationships are maintained and strengthened. If one man can do it alone we can become isolated and “me” focused, even forget about our neighbors until they do something we don’t like.
“You take the blue pill, the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill, you stay in wonderland, and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes.”
–The Matrix
So take the red pill and see what it’s really like to live free, even if only in your mind for now. Gradually unplug from the establishment (except in true need and emergencies.). It takes work, and personal responsibility but well worth the effort to be again in another way more self sufficient. You can also find among yourselves massage therapists, Osteopathic doctors (who do osteopathic manipulative medicine), chiropractors, nutrition therapists, homeopaths, oriental medicine practitioners, and other healers who can help with your journey, its about other choices first and the most risky ones taken last and only if absolutely necessary (true informed choice; balancing good and bad effects) with having the most extreme on the bad effects being the last resort (modern suppressive drugs).
In my next installment I’ll discuss a homeopathic experience.

I have just one question to that: (ignoring the question if you would go on a safari)
Imagine you are coming back from an african safari and get a bad fever.
do you:
1. find some homeopathic stuff which resembles your symptoms
or
2. go to a hospital to be treated?
Personally I wouldn’t for a second consider the first option, because I see it as a responsibility to my wife and kids to die of some treatable disease just because I refused to bebefit from scientific, medical advancement.
If you are for the first one … well I guess what the rest of us get is a cleaner gene pool (sorry)
The sentence should of course read: “because I see it as a responsibility to my wife and kids NOT to die of some treatable disease”
There are many people in these countries that you are returning from that use these homeopathic remedies on a routine basis for these fevers you are suggesting, such as malaria, dengue fever and the like, they deal with this sort of thing all the time with good results. Just because you are back in the States doesn’t mean it is suddenly ineffective! You could contact the group you were with, find out a local doctor that treats the fever homeopathically and take their recommendations.
If you don’t know what you are doing, then I can see your point. If you don’t know your body enough to know when it’s safe and when it’s not to do home remedies than you need more education. Or if your fever has progressed to where you are in dire straits; that is the point of using modern medicine in emergencies, you’d probably need IV fluids etc.
Most go with what they are familiar with. But what I am trying to explain is that we need to broaden our options. Drugs and surgery are not always the best option, especially in the advent that your fever may be caused by a resistant organism and the drugs may cause severe damage as a side effect and you end up with diabetes the rest of your life, or it may not treat it at all (resistant)and you die anyway. The heavy duty antibiotics have tons of ill effects on the body, and if you are dehydrated and ill to begin with they can cause more damage than your body can handle. You have to weigh the risks with the benefits. If a natural herbal mixture that treats even antibiotic resistant microbes; rife frequency therapy or homeopathic remedies restores you to health without near the risk why not? They have for many others. Americans seem to be the most resistant to believe that they can work better than our modern drugs but it should not stop those of us who use them on a regular basis and haven’t seen a doctor in years with no ill effects. Taking medicines that strengthen the body instead of weakening it doesn’t thin our gene pool, it gives us greater vigor and longer life; as the evidence of our current paradigm demonstrates.
But that is only if you subscribe to the Pasteur model of disease and not Bechamp, Rife and Naessens. It’s a whole different way of treating disease. A different mindset of disease itself and a different path to health. The terrain is everything!
The whole idea is CHOICE. If you walk one way and I walk another we should have that option. I won’t denigrate, call you names or stop you from doing what you like if you won’t stop me by legislating away my options. The whole idea of the Academy is to QUESTION EVERYTHING, even our sacred cows; the “modern medical advancement” as you call it is very good at some things and very bad at others. They limit our options to publicly debate the parts they are bad at and that is what I’m questioning. There have been many other scientists, scholars, doctors that disagree with much of the theories of today but they are shut down. I am trying to get those ideas more light.
I would never want to stop you or anyone else. I will make the choices for my kids as long as they are under my supervision.
As to homeopathics … I THINK it is based on believe and as such is maximally as strong as your faith. How strong faith is for curing … I don’t know.
Personally I have had modern medicine improve my life significantly and I am convinced that the basic premise is valid. Pharma abusing power is another thing but has in my opinion more to do with regulations than medicine.
I tried all sorts of occult methods to correct my -3 dioptrin eyes and only a laser surgery worked. Now I see again perfectly and am glad for it.
Teeth? I wouldn’t wont to live in a world without dentists and not in a world without tranquilisers during surgery or after.
Your perception of Homeopathy, and many others is incorrect. It was developed using observation and inductive reasoning from reproducible experiments using developed theories and the scientific method. This was carried out by a number of physicians and still is today. I will go into this further with some posts I am working on.
Homeopathy is not occult it’s physics. If you want to heal your cavities without dental drilling you can see the research by Dr. Weston price DDS who was an ADA researcher who scientifically proved with x-rays that diet alone can heal and cause cavities, as well as physical health degeneration or regeneration.
I am not against modern medicine per se; only their obsession with control over everything. They have their good points and save lives and help people, but they also do the opposite. They wish us to believe they can do no wrong, all of their theories are perfect and that the corruption of the medical sciences has no effect (like global warming and other scientific hoaxes).
Homeopathic philosophy is very simple. The symptoms already existing in a person can be treated or cured by a medicine that causes those same symptoms when given to a healthy person. This is called the law of similars or like cures like. To further evaluate this effect, Dr. Hahnemann and his colleagues took medicines and carefully observed their effects to find what medicines could cure.
Dr. Hahnemann further established an effective way of using experiments and inductive reasoning to develop a method, and validate homeopathy’s effectiveness. Operating under this philosophy of similars, experiments and clinical use by him and his medical colleagues, Hahnemann demonstrated that similar medicines, in crude form (or unchanged), have toxic and therapeutic effects. They helped disease, but also caused great and troubling aggravations of the illness and other unrelated side effects. He then diluted the medicines, which reduced the side effects but also the beneficial effect. Dr. Hahnemann eventually invented the process of potentization or dynamization where he diluted the medicines by precise amounts (such as one drop material to 9 drops alcohol ) and then added kinetic energy with each dilution by succussion (10x) (succussion = hitting the vial against a solid object; like a hardcover book with the strength of dropping it to the floor). This would be done over and over to dilute it further, such as one drop of the first solution would be added to 9 drops of alcohol and succussed 10 times for a 2x (power of 10) remedy. (Ref 10)
Using this method it became apparent by clinical use and experimentation that homeopathic medicines only cure if they are prescribed based on the doctrine of similars, and were precisely diluted with the addition of kinetic energy after each dilution (dynamization). The micro doses only become actively curative when they are made this way. And because the substance is diluted beyond its physical presence in the medicine, yet its consistent and observable actions become stronger the more times dynamization is repeated, this process must transmit and amplify some of the unique energy of the original substance to the neutral solution it is dissolved in.( Ref 10). And this energy then strengthens the healing principle (immune system, prana, vital force there are many names for it) of the person who then cures their own disease. Dilution alone and succussion alone do not create this effect; only together. This may have to do with the structure of water (where it stores and transfers energy), resonance and the transfer of energy between 2 storage modalities (such as kinetic and potential energy – which would explain the kinetic energy requirement) or a combination of them both. The exact mechanism is still being theorized, but the effects are consistently observed in patients and experiments.
So by diluting to the point of no physical substance left this process makes even poisons safe to use as medicines. In fact the most deep and profound healing medicines are the poisons, because they will treat the symptoms they cause in toxicity; which are severe enough to cause death. Some examples include arsenicum (arsenic) mercurius (mercury) and many types of venom from snakes, frogs and other poisonous creatures. While we do not yet fully understand this process scientifically, “unique properties of the remedies have also been identified that may give more clues to the exact principles at work”. (Ref 10).
It has also been hypothesized that the remedies operate by the principle of resonance, that by administering the medicine with a frequency that resonates with the frequency the person is exhibiting at the moment (collective symptoms), you increase the energetic strength of the healing principle of the person (two tuning forks that are next to each other of the same frequency; you strike one and the other starts to vibrate). So it increases the person’s healing energy and therefore his ability to heal himself.
Thus it is a method that utilizes the observed laws of nature (resonance; similars) following nature’s example (cause same symptoms are exhibiting) and thus imitating it to heal (because Nature to be commanded, must be obeyed: Francis Bacon). It operates under strict guidelines and methods when it produces brilliant results. It allows even dangerous materials to be made safely into helpful medicines, and utilizes all of creation to heal. It is inexpensive, safe and deep acting. It acts on the entirety of man; mental, emotional and physical to bring the entire body and mind into balance.
Great article, Health Warrior. It is great to know the alternative options out there, though i believe calling it “Alternative” does it great injustice. Prudentis have a point as well but that point of view is derived from most of us growing up in a system where we take things the way it is. Modern Medicine has been assisting us most of our lives, improving our health in the short term but we were grown into believing that that is the only option when there are other methods that helps. I guess the key is to create a healthy balance. Unfortunately, the way our system now works, the option with the best “Profit Margin” wins and everything else can take the backseat. We are all grown into this mind set which is why, it begins with us to start to break away from that mould and study different options which will really help us and i dont just mean in the field of medicine, it works for everything in life.
Actually I have a pretty good understanding of homeopathy. Here in Germany, you do get homeopathic medicine prescribed by school medicin doctors and the debate is much louder than in America I guess. My answer to that is, when I am really sick, I take stuff that works. If it isn’t necessary, than I don’t take either.
I don’t risk taking ineffective drugs for serious illnesses.
But then again, I am not one to take medicine for every cough. As I understand Americans do get many drug prescriptions they don’t need and in that case, you could make the point that taking homeopathic drugs was better than regular drugs. Just because homeopathic drugs are strongly delluted and do less harm than regular drugs on organisms that really don’t need any medicine.
To claim, that homeopathy is based on the scientific method is not quite accurate. It is based on observation and the approval of homeopathic medicines is nowwhere as complex and regulated as regular medicines it is based on Hahnemann’s method and so he is the de facto standard.
This is not the scientific method.
I have read about the similar medicin approach (Simile-Prinzip), dillution, etc.
I have also read studies, that clearly showed, some homeopathic medicines to have at best placebo like effects.
I don’t know of any long time clinical studies actually proving homeopathic drugs working.
For me homeopathic drugs are placebos. Take them, most of the time they do no harm. Where this ends is, when simple antibiotics can cure bacterial infections and you refuse to take them and instead rely on placebos.
@Prudentitis
“Actually I have a pretty good understanding of homeopathy. My answer to that is, when I am really sick, I take stuff that works. If it isn’t necessary, than I don’t take either.”
Many doctors prescribe homeopathic medicines in the allopathic way; what it typically helps and not the method of the whole symptom picture that Hahnemann describes in his Organon of the Medical Art. This reduces the effectiveness of them; but it does not mean they don’t work in acute and critical conditions [in fact carbo veg can recussitate someone as well as a shock to the body if the symptoms agree; its been done before]. They would work much better if they were used the way they were meant to be. I hate taking medicines or vitamins period and never take anything unless I have to. But my own experience has proven over and over again that homeopathy works better than modern drugs. I have medical training and worked in acute care for years. I know what drugs do. I’ve given many and observed the effects of many. Then I compare the effectiveness, accelerated healing times, greatly reduced pain and injury to what I see now. Homeopathy in many cases is the clear winner.
Most don’t believe it until they experience it themselves. I have made many converts over the years because I have demonstrated my own stories and, while working with the over the counter strengths shared the right medicine and many even chronic ailments go away. I have seen it clear up infections faster than antibiotics; get rid of chronic infections that antibiotics couldn’t touch after months, progress labor that was stalled (I was on the other end of pitocin before, this 15 minutes and its going again was way better and the body, not the drug, is in charge of the contractions so you have no risk of rupture), eliminate the need for an emergency visit for shortness of breath and completely well in 2 days and the list goes on and on. One of the best ones was relieving a screaming child who was having a panic episode, and they completely relaxed and fell asleep in 15 minutes. That action is faster than any oral drug, which takes 30 minutes, and in many cases the effect is almost instantaneous. You can believe it or not, its your choice. But a placebo can’t heal a second degree burn in 2 hours completely removing the pain and stopping the blistering al-together (boiling caramel poured on hand). A placebo can’t work on an infant, or an animal, or a plant. A placebo does not fix non-union fractures in a month so someone doesn’t have to have surgery; astounding all the doctors. Homeopathy does all of these. I have seen it personally.
“To claim, that homeopathy is based on the scientific method is not quite accurate. It is based on observation and the approval of homeopathic medicines is nowwhere as complex and regulated as regular medicines it is based on Hahnemann’s method and so he is the de facto standard.”
That is not true; Hahnemann is a true scientist and was very strict in following the scientific; experimental method. He was both chemist and medical doctor, esteemed by all in the profession. To say it was just his method is to dishonor him. Having very strong German heritage I am very proud of him actually.
According to Webster’s dictionary on line the scientific method is as follows:
: principles and procedures for the systematic pursuit of knowledge involving the recognition and formulation of a problem, the collection of data through observation and experiment, and the formulation and testing of hypotheses
So he followed the scientific method by doing the following:
1) Observe a problem: Dr. Hahnemann observed that Peruvian bark cured malaria but a colleague said it was because it was bitter. He didn’t believe it.
2) Dr. Hahnemann made observations; he took the Peruvian bark for a time and observed it caused in him the symptoms of malaria.
3) He formed a hypothesis; based upon his historical research of medical texts he formed a hypothesis based upon the theories of Hippocrates that ‘like cures like’ (the doctrine of similars); that what a medicine can cause in a healthy person it can cure in a sick person with the identical symptoms; no matter the cause.
4) He went about proving and testing his hypothesis by using repeatable experiments.
a. His colleagues and he took substances and observed carefully any new symptoms they had experienced.
b. They noted these new experiences and once they had a collection they began their experiments, prescribing based on the doctrine of similars.
c. They first gave base similar medicines (such as full strength); these helped but also caused great aggravations that frightened both doctor and patient; not acceptable
d. Then they gave similars diluted but these had reduced healing as well as aggravations; also not acceptable;
e. Then he came upon the method describe in my earlier post; the succussion of the remedy with precise dilutions brought out the healing energy of the substance (physics) and both increased the healing as well as reduces aggravations; better method was now used.
f. Then they began to treat people with these remedies based upon the doctrine of similars en mass and found consistent responses in people, thus based on this consistent use and response in the treatment of people it became a “law of simlars” no longer a hypothesis.
g. He didn’t stop there; he continued his experiments including using placebos to refine his healing art. He wrote 6 editions of the Organon as he refined his work. He never stopped experimenting to make it better, more effective. First we had the x potencies; then the c potencies; he gave us the LM potencies prior to his death. First he gave us the powder medicines until he found the liquid versions worked much better and used them exclusively toward the end of his life.
This law was not accepted by many; but just because you don’t want something to be a law doesn’t mean is isn’t. He followed every scientific principle; just because many reject it does not disprove it.
Homeopathic medicines are made in compliance to pharmaceutical standards according to the Homeopathic Pharmacopoeia of the United States. They are registered as drugs and have every bit of scrutiny in their manufacture as any drug.
Their testing is much better than any drug testing done on modern medicines in that they are tested on men and women only; they are not approved based on animal studies and the first patients become the guinea pigs;
Unlike modern medicines tested on animals, sick people and limited test subjects (mostly young men), homeopathic medicines are only tested on healthy people (not animals); men and women of differing ages with different strengths of the medicine. The practice of “proving” the remedy is for well subjects to take doses of a specific remedy for a duration of time, to bring about new symptoms or observe their own physical symptoms that resolve in order to determine the scope of action of the remedy. This process is very specific and precise. These new symptoms are carefully observed and noted. Once identified by the provers, these symptoms are evaluated in clinical practice, where their actions are verified. When the remedy cures the symptoms they created in the provers the symptoms are added to the materia medica (the homeopathic physicians desk reference), along with those symptoms homeopaths have seen the remedy cure consistently that are not within the proving’ data, the most important being the ones that were part of a total body/mind cure. These are then graded by their frequency; the most frequent symptoms are in italics or bold; and called guiding symptoms or key notes, these are the most common ones that the remedy will cure or present in the population. The materia medica is a list then by remedy of the symptoms (mental, emotional, physical) and the medicines range of action on the human person, thus identifying when they are best used (symptom pictures). The remedy is then added to the repertory in appropriate places, which is a list of symptoms by major category, listing the appropriate remedies under each symptom. Unfortunately relying strictly on repertories may cause a problem when the indicated remedy is a less frequently used one, as all of the various versions of the repertories will not be inclusive of all remedies (printed prior to their addition or proving). The repertories are still very necessary, but it is helpful to look at other books as well as literature on provings. There are also computer repertories that encompass all reference, proving and repertory data available to date (MacRepertory; ReferenceWorks etc.) as well as online resources at http://www.hpathy.com. Many homeopaths stick with Kent’s repertory because it has been the most consistently accurate over the greatest period of time.
Homeopathic remedies are created in various potencies measured by the number of dilutions and secussions they have had (using roman numerals). The remedies are also given an NDC number (unique drug ID) by the FDA and a specific protocol is written for their manufacturing and noted in the homeopathic pharmacopoeia of the United States (HPUS) which establishes the standards for their pharmaceutical manufacture. So they are classified as “drugs” but are not synthetically derived.
“I have also read studies that clearly showed, some homeopathic medicines to have at best placebo like effects.”
Now who has done these “studies”? The pharmaceutical firms who have a vested interest in disproving them? Do you have any knowledge of the scientific fraud that is promulgated as fact these days? There is much of it out there; much conflict of interest and many other things. I don’t inherently agree with any study unless I have seen it as a third party double blind and see what questions they are formulating, testing and see the results. Anything that comes from FDA and their mouthpieces are suspect in my eyes, especially if it means more drugs for everyone. Because I’ve seen so much dishonesty, they have become the kid who cries wolf. Caught in enough lies I don’t believe anything I can’t see for myself anymore.
“I don’t know of any long time clinical studies actually proving homeopathic drugs working.”
There are many many positive studies done on homeopathic drugs, double blind showing they work, but you aren’t going to find them in JAMA or LANCET. I’ll guarantee it. Read some good literature by Dana Ullman like Discovering Homeopathy he answers many of your objections. Great minds like Herbert Roberts, George Vithoulkas and others have great insight into the workings of homeopathy and can explain it in further detail.
“For me homeopathic drugs are placebos. Take them, most of the time they do no harm. Where this ends is, when simple antibiotics can cure bacterial infections and you refuse to take them and instead rely on placebos.”
Like I said if you prefer to suffer a week with a second degree burn with your creams go ahead. I’ll take the two hours. If you prefer the surgery for non-union of fracture over the homeopathic go ahead we’ve seen the results on x-ray from a good dose of symphytum. If you prefer to have 12 hours of pitocin instead of the 15 minutes and you’re done go ahead; if you prefer to take the risk of rupture of uterus go ahead. If you prefer to stay up all night or give your kid valium that’s fine I’ll take the aconite and let us all sleep in good order. It’s a choice you have to make for yourself. Simple antibiotics cannot cure everything; haven’t you heard of “antibiotic resistance?” or deaths from hospital infections? I know of many who have succumbed to such things. I have seen many infections brought to an end very quickly without antibiotics; myself included. I’ll take homeopathic remedies any day over the many side effects from modern antibiotics that are becoming more ineffective each day.
Good discussion though. Thanks
@Prakop
Good thoughts and insights. Thanks. There needs to be a balance. Modern Medicine is absolutely great at some things. Don’t give symphytum to heal a break until AFTER it’s set correctly by a doctor and the like. It would be great if we could just work together to the greater benefit of the patient. There is too much unnecessary suffering; just like purgatives and blood-letting. But if people only see one side and only believe one side there is not much you can do. For those that wish to take the road less traveled. I welcome you!
@Prudentis
I did mention before, everything has its place, including suppressive therapy and modern surgery and anesthesiology. It’s just knowing when one is better than the other that we need to know to make the best decisions. Get the information out there and let people make their own decisions. That is the best option for everyone. Not everyone will be comfortable in making the leap until its been proven to them, and I can respect that.
Thank you for the last post, with which I can agree 100%.
The first, very lengthy one, I will go through when I have more time
And I didn’t mean to insult Hahnemann. I meant that his methods are somwhat old and we have better means to test medicine today. But I will appologize by acnowledging the fact, that Hahnemann was a real scinetist using the scientific method as best he could in his time.
And even if it may seem so, I am not really an opponent to homeopathy if it isn’t abused as the only means to madicate. I just don’t “believe” in it based on my own use of homeopathics and some studies I have read.
Good chat Prudentits I’m glad you are here!
The scientific method has remained the same since Hahnemann’s time. His knowledge of microbiology and biochemistry were different than what we know today certainly, but his approach has remained the same, if it is true to science. I will acknowledge that we can examine things in much greater detail today. There are studies which suggest nanoparticles are what cause the healing in homeopathics; there are physics principles that can be involved and there are a number of things Hahnemann didn’t know about, but he was true to his observations, he followed his results no matter where it took him, whether fame or shame. What mattered was the pursuit of excellence and that people became well, and that is all he cared about. That is the medical science ideal.
I will also acknowledge that homeopathy doesn’t work for everyone; or the remedy is chosen incorrectly so you don’t get the results you expect. It’s a very complex methodology, even though the law is simple. Even homeopaths that have been doing this a long time have “difficult cases”. Hahnemann struggled his entire life with some of his cases. This is why he kept working on them till he died, to find out what was stopping the cure. It has a great many positives with which it does work well though and I’ve experienced a great number of them myself as well as friends, family and a number of real skeptics.
I would never say to only use one thing exclusively. Every modality has its place and you use them where their strengths lie. But we can only find that out if we are allowed to explore that idea. The current paradigm won’t even allow the thought
Sorry about misspelling your name e gads!
@ Prudentis–
Actually Prudentis there is now a vast amount of scientific research and double blind clinical controlled trials supporting the use of homeopathics in a multitude of clinical situations. Homeopathy is directly involved, irrespective of the disease label affixed to the patient, in establishing regulation of the host’s or patient’s defences be they superficial or deep seated chronic inflammatory or even auto-immune states. And actually homeopathy is well founded in science and the scientific method. Homeopathy, however, is not a science but is an application of the hard sciences. Namely physics and chemistry. Here are some references below that I provide in my own practice to all patients and even skeptics. This is not an exhaustive list and should not be taken as all there is to say concerning the physics and chemistry of homeopathy.

1. The Elusive Mechanism of the Magnetic ‘Memory’ of Water
Miroslav Colic *, Dwain Morse
Abstract
It has been claimed that preliminary water treatment with magnetic or electromagnetic (EM) fields can help descale metal surfaces, improve cement hydration, change z potential of colloids, make plants irrigated with such water grow faster, enhance efflux of calcium through biomembranes or influence the structure of model lyposomes. The effects persist minutes or hours after the water treatment. It is well known that relaxation phenomena in water occur on a picosecond to second timescale. The nature of these ‘mysterious’ and questionable phenomena uniquely known as the ‘magnetic memory of water’ has recently been scrutinized. Based on our recent work as well as other recent publications, we propose a model for the observed phenomena. We propose that the gas liquid interface is perturbed by the action of magnetic and electromagnetic fields.

2. A New Approach to the Memory of Water AV Tschulakow, Y Yan and W Klimek
Abstract
We investigated whether water has a ‘memory’ for succussion compared to unsuccussed controls. The method is based on a bioassay using dinoflagellates. The duration of memory measured by this method is at least 10 min, and may be longer. The effect may be based upon solitons. A hypothesis about the mode of action of homeopathy may be experimentally investigated by this method.

3. The Structure Of Liquid Water; Novel Insights From Materials
Research; Potential Relevance To Homeopathy
Rustum Roy, W.A. Tiller, Iris Bell, M. R. Hoover
Abstract
This paper provides an interdisciplinary base of information on the structure of liquid water.
It begins with a synthesis built on the information base on the structure of noncrystalline,
inorganic, covalently-bonded condensed liquid phases, such as SiO2, S, Se, P, and H2O, which
exists in the materials science literature. The data for water are analyzed through the prism of
well-established algorithms in materials research: the connection of properties to structure;
the pressure-temperature (P-T) phase diagrams; the phenomenon of epitaxy; the phenomenon
of liquid-liquid phase separation; the stability of two phase colloids; and, the recently
discovered effects of weak magnetic and electric fields on the structure of simple inorganic
oxides. A thorough combing of the literature of the condensed matter properties reflecting
structural features of essentially pure water obtained via the normal processes of preparing
homeopathic remedies, provides another rich data base.
The most distinctive feature of bonding in liquid water is not only the “well-known hydrogen
bonds, but the necessary presence of a wide range” of van der Waals bonds between and
among the various oligomeric (cluster) structural units. It is this range of very weak bonds
that could account for the remarkable ease of changing the structure of water, which in turn
could help explain the half-dozen well-known anomalies in its properties. In its subtler form,
such weak bonds would also allow for the changes of structure caused by electric and
magnetic fields and by radiation of all kinds, including possibly so-called “subtle energies”,
which are the basis of an enormous range of claims about specially “structured” water.

4. The ‘Memory of Water’: an almost deciphered enigma. Dissipative structures in extremely dilute aqueous solutions.
V. Elia, E. Napoli and R. Germano
Abstract
In the last decade, we have investigated from the physicochemical point of view, whether water prepared by the procedures of homeopathic medicine (leading inexorably to systems without any molecule different from the solvent) results in water different from the initial water? The answer, unexpectedly, but strongly supported by many experimental results is positive. We used well-established physicochemical techniques: flux calorimetry, conductometry, pHmetry and galvanic cell electrodes potential. Unexpectedly the physicochemical parameters evolve in time. The water solvent exhibits large changes in measurable physicochemical properties as a function of its history, the solute previously dissolved, and time. In particular we found evidence of two new phenomena, both totally unpredicted, in homeopathic dilutions: the presence of a maximum in the measured physicochemical parameters vs sample age, and their dependence on the volume in which the dilution is stored. These new experimental results strongly suggest the presence of an extended and ‘ordered’ dynamics involving liquid water molecules.

Spectroscopic & Physical Methods to Assess High Dilutions
A/ Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (RMN) by Izel Botha
This paper seeks to perform a meta-analysis of the findings of these studies and to draw a
conclusion on the nature of homoeopathic dilutions as well as the validity of performing
this type of inquiry into the nature of homeopathically prepared medicines.
From the studies presented, two conclusions can be drawn, the first dealing with the
evolution of the thinking processes associated with the studies that needed to be
conducted. In the initial studies, conducted by Ross and Power investigated the
nature of Q potencies. These researchers acknowledged that the theories as to the
molecular organisation in solutions existed, but they refrained from conclusively
interpreting the results in terms of to those theories. Their research lead to Cason
investigating the influence of the frequency of the NMR spectrometer on results obtained.
Davies and Malan investigated the role of dilution on the physico-chemical structure
of the homoeopathic solutions, showing that information storage does take place in the
solution, but that different dilution methods result in different solutions, even when the
theoretical dilution level is equal. Malan’s mention of dilution level and succussion
opened the door for investigation of the effect of various potentisation methods.
Each investigated different variables that may be introduced during the manufacturing process, particularly looking at the number of succussions and the effect of trituration. Erasmus
took this one step further by investigating the mechanics of the succession process. These researchers interpreted their results based on the theories of Resch and Gutmann and Anagnostatos. This body of knowledge has inspired Allsopp to look into the effect of energy transfer into the solution – whether it is imperative that the energy is imprinted mechanically by hand production of the remedies, or if it can equally be achieved through electromagnetic means. In comparing the studies, it is evident that both trituration and serial dilution changes the physico-chemical properties of the solvent to produce distinct medicines.
Conclusions: The meta-analysis supports the conclusion that different potentisation
methods result in medicines with different physico-chemical properties. One can also
conclude that NMR Spectroscopy is a valuable tool in assessing the physico-chemical
effect that potentisation methods have on the lactose and water/ethanol bases utilised in
the manufacture of homoeopathic medicines. It works well to study a single compound
and is not adapted to the investigation of a complex mix of different substances. NMR
may be used for low potencies and only with the best available instrument.

B/ A new Magnetic Resonance method by K. Lenger
The “homeopathic information” in high homeopathic potencies on sugar globule could be
considered as photons with frequencies in the MHz-region by scientific evidence. These
photons in high homeopathic potencies were detected by two magnetic resonance-methods
firstly by the modified photomultiplier-method and secondly by the Tesla-coil method.
Both methods allowed determination of physical properties of these photons: holistic, coherent quantum behavior, damping of the magnetic field by resonance effect, at least two resonance frequencies in the MHz-region, frequency spectra after being excited by one of their characteristic resonance frequencies, measurability of the degree of potencies by separation of the photons from their carrier substances alcohol or sucrose by increasing the electromagnetic fields of their resonance frequencies. A
device for measuring the degree of the potencies and their resonance frequencies must be
developed for quality control of them in future. Further investigations about the stability
of the remedies in different media: water, alcohol, sugar, are necessary. A physical model
must be developed in which way matter substance can be converted into energy, into
photons by succussion in alcoholic dilutions and in triturations.
C/ UV – Visible spectrometry
A promising approach was reached when the dilutions were studied near the upper limit
of their ultra-violet absorption spectrum (200 to 400 nm). Rao, Roy, Bell and Hoover
got some interesting recordings for ultra-molecular solutions of 3 different products
selected in totally different kingdom (Natrium muriaticum, Pulsatilla, Lachesis) and were
able to discriminate them at the 30C level. Similar results were equally obtained by
Pollack and Wexler working on Havit, Apis mellifica and Histaminum. This method,
however, proved to be highly sensitive to rather unforeseen parameters, like the time of
the day. Reproducibility has not yet been possible.
D/ Raman spectroscopy
Different attempts have been done to see whether a close investigation of the Raman shift
could help discriminating the dilutions between themselves. Once more the operating
conditions proved to be determinant: the position of the tube, recording done in a dark
room and the same instrument. Under those conditions Rao148
could demonstrate that the
spectral peaks corresponding to different potencies of the same strain or dilutions of the
same potency from different sources are different. Even if those differences are small,
they look reproducible.
E/ Dynamic Electrophotonic Capture: Gaz Discharge Visualization – EPC/GDV
The introduction of the so-called EPC/GDV technique in the research on high dilutions is
a somewhat accidental and unforecastable event. It results from the pioneering work of
Konstantin Korotkov who developed a completely new process to analyse “the energu
fields” on multiple targets thanks to the analysis of the electrophotonic glow stimulated
by a train of controlled pulses of a high-tension electromagnetic field, a technique based
upon the Kirlian effect. Applied to ultra-molecular dilutions by Iris Bell, very small
drops of liquid (0,02cc) gave successive glow images under electric discharge, which
could be further processed thanks to the elaborative software of K. Korotkov. The triple
analysis of their fractality (shape), size and brightness did show different patterns which,
under well selected conditions, could be species-specific, and Iris Bell discovered that a
high dilution of Natrium muriaticum had definitely a different overall dinger-print than
its original solvent (ethanol in that particular case). It is most likely that this innovative
technique might open perspectives in dilution research.
F/ Calorimetric and Electric Measurements
In a completely different field, Elia and al were able to show that when a high dilution
was mixed with an acid or a base, the heat release was much more important than it
should be for a standard reference. He claimed that this was due to the fact that, in the
case of high dilutions, an excess of energy was basically needed to “rupture” intrinsic
structures (so-called dissipative structures) resulting to their preparation.
Similar discrepancies were also observed by Elia when he measured the electric
conductivity of high dilutions, an observation which was shared by Zacharias
and his group in Brazil when they compared succused high dilutions of Vincristine sulfate an
inert solvent.
Another interesting approach in the field of electric measurements is opened by the use of
Impedance spectroscopy. In that particular technique the behavior of a dilution is
assessed as a dielectric medium in low frequencies and some preliminary research
(Monod – Cemagref) did show that the loss angle (Tg delta) and the dielectric constant
are substantially different from one dilution to its original solvent.
G/ Thermoluminescence (abstract Prof. Louis Rey)
Low-temperature thermoluminescence is a very sensitive investigation tool and, for
instance, could discriminate very easily different highly diluted alumina colloids which
could not be distinguished by classical chemical analysis. On that base this method was
used to study inter alia, potassium dichromate, sodium chloride and lithium chloride
preparations made in D20. For potassium dichromate, the experiments carried out with
Ilse Muchitsch and Michael Frass showed very clearly that their “finger prints” were
totally different from the one of the heavy water alone even in dilutions above Avogadro
number.

1. Historical Background
Abstract
Homeopathy was born as an experimental discipline, as can be seen from the enormous amount of homeopathic data collected over more than two centuries. However, the medical tradition of homeopathy has been separated from that of conventional science for a long time. Conventional scientific wisdom dictates that homeopathy should have no effect above placebo but experiments on ultra-high dilutions of solutes together with some clinical data suggest the intriguing possibility that it might do in some circumstances. Today, an osmotic process between disciplines, previously seen as in conflict, is facilitated because over the last few decades homeopathy has initiated the methods of current medical science and a substantial number of experimental studies—at molecular, cellular and clinical levels—are available. One area of dialogue and of common progress is that of inflammation and immunity, probably because these are closely related to the traditional ‘vital force’ of the body’s self-healing power. In a series of papers we review the historical origins of homeopathy, the laboratory and animal models related to the field of immunopharmacology, the clinical evidence in favor and against the use of homeopathy in the inflammatory diseases and the hypotheses regarding its action mechanism(s). Finally, we will enlighten the specific characteristics of the homeopathic approach, which places great emphasis on identifying a cure for the whole organism.

2. Cells of the Immune System and Inflammation
Abstract
Here we describe the results of some experimental laboratory studies aimed at verifying the efficacy of high dilutions of substances and of homeopathic medicines in models of inflammation and immunity. Studies carried out on basophils, lymphocytes, granulocytes and fibroblasts are reviewed. This approach may help to test under controlled conditions the main principles of homeopathy such as ‘similarity’ of drug action at the cellular level and the effects of dilution/dynamization on the drug activity. The current situation is that few and rather small groups are working on laboratory models for homeopathy. Regarding the interpretation of data in view of the simile principle, we observe that there are different levels of similarity and that the laboratory data give support to this principle, but have not yet yielded the ultimate answer to the action mechanism of homeopathy. Evidence of the biological activity in vitro of highly diluted-dynamized solutions is slowly accumulating, with some conflicting reports. It is our hope that this review of literature unknown to most people will give an original and useful insight into the ‘state-of-the-art’ of homeopathy, without final conclusions ‘for’ or ‘against’ this modality. This kind of uncertainty may be difficult to accept, but is conceivably the most open-minded position now.

3. Experimental Studies on Animal Models
Abstract
A search of the literature and the experiments carried out by the authors of this review show that there are a number of animal models where the effect of homeopathic dilutions or the principles of homeopathic medicine have been tested. The results relate to the immunostimulation by ultralow doses of antigens, the immunological models of the ‘simile’, the regulation of acute or chronic inflammatory processes and the use of homeopathic medicines in farming. The models utilized by different research groups are extremely etherogeneous and differ as the test medicines, the dilutions and the outcomes are concerned. Some experimental lines, particularly those utilizing mice models of immunomodulation and anti-inflammatory effects of homeopathic complex formulations, give support to a real effect of homeopathic high dilutions in animals, but often these data are of preliminary nature and have not been independently replicated. The evidence emerging from animal models is supporting the traditional ‘simile’ rule, according to which ultralow doses of compounds, that in high doses are pathogenic, may have paradoxically a protective or curative effect. Despite a few encouraging observational studies, the effectiveness of the homeopathic prevention or therapy of infections in veterinary medicine is not sufficiently supported by randomized and controlled trials.

4. Clinical Studies
Abstract
The evidence-based research of the effectiveness of homeopathic medicines in common immunologic disorders is reviewed. In part 1, we introduce methodological issues of clinical research in homeopathy, and criteria utilized to evaluate the literature. Then 24 studies (12 randomized and 12 non-randomized) on common upper respiratory tract infections and otorhinolaryngologic complaints are described. In part 2, the focus will be on allergic diseases and the effectiveness of homeopathy will be globally evaluated and discussed using the criteria of evidence-based medicine.

5. The Rationale of the ‘Simile’
Abstract
The foundation of homeopathic medicine is the ‘Similia Principle’, also known as the ‘Principle of Similarity’ or also as the ‘Simile’, which reflects the inversion of pharmacological effects in healthy subjects as compared with sick ones. This article describes the inversion of effects, a widespread medical phenomenon, through three possible mechanisms: non-linearity of dose–response relationship, different initial pathophysiological states of the organism, and pharmacodynamics of body response to the medicine. Based on the systemic networks which play an important role in response to stress, a unitary and general model is designed: homeopathic medicines could interact with sensitive (primed) regulation systems through complex information, which simulate the disorders of natural disease. Reorganization of regulation systems, through a coherent response to the medicine, could pave the way to the healing of the cellular, tissue and neuro-immuno-endocrine homeodynamics. Preliminary evidence is suggesting that even ultra-low doses and high-dilutions of drugs may incorporate structural or frequency information and interact with chaotic dynamics and physical-electromagnetic levels of regulation. From the clinical standpoint, the ‘simile’ can be regarded as a heuristic principle, according to which the detailed knowledge of pathogenic effects of drugs, associated with careful analysis of signs and symptoms of the ill subject, could assist in identifying homeopathic remedies with high grade of specificity for the individual case

*Meta analyses – Systematic review
The « gold standard », accepted principally by conventional medicine to evaluate the efficacy of a remedy is referred to as a meta-analysis or a systematic audit of RCTs. Since 1991, 6 comprehensive reviews concerning homeopathy were published.
The conclusion arrived at concerning all comprehensive systematic reviews was that homeopathy elicits a positive and specific effect greater than placebo alone. Several randomized and controlled studies (RCT) showed a statistic significant difference between homeopathy and placebo.
Comprehensive reports of these meta-analyses are presented below;
Kleijnen en al. 1991 (18) British Medical Journal. 105 studies with
interpretable results. Meta-analysis based on validated criteria.
* 77% of the studies show positive result for homeopathy.
*The results are mostly favourable for homeopathy regarding the quality of trials.
* There is a legal argument for further evaluation of homeopathy
Boissel en al. 1996 (19) Report for the European commission. 15 studies.
Inclusion of only very rigorous studies (highest quality).
* Combined p-values for the 15 studies is significant. (p = 0.0002).
* It is evident that homeopathy is more efficient than placebo
* Little evidence for non-published negative results
*Further research is justified.
Linde en al. 1997 (20) The Lancet. 89 studies.
* Odds ratio» combined 2.45 (95% CI, 2.05-2.93) in favour of homeopathy
* «Odds ratio» for the best 26 studies was 1.66
* It is not possible that the clinical effects of homeopathy are due completely to placebo
Linde and Melchart 1998 (21) Journal of Alternative and Complementary
Medicine. 32 studies, inclusion of studies on invidualised homeopathy only (19)
* Individualised homeopathy is more efficient than a placebo: the value of the combined
coefficient was 1.62 (95% CI, 1.17-2.23).
* Further pragmatic research is justified.
Cucherat en al. 2000 (22) European Journal of Clinical Pharmacology.
16 trials representing 17 comparisons with placebo (based on data from the
Boissel 1996 study).
* Several studies have positive results. More trials have a positive result than would be
expected to chance alone.
* Publication bias is unlikely.
* More clinical trials are needed.
Shang & al. 2005 (23) Lancet. 110 trials included, but the final conclusion
is based on a selection of 8 trials.
* Final conclusion (8 heterogeneous trials) : weak evidence for a specific effect of
homeopathic remedies, but strong evidence for specific effects of conventional
interventions
* Presented as comparison of homeopathy and carefully matched conventional trials, but
data about conclusive trials were missing
* Quality of homeopathy trials is better: 21 (19%) good quality trials for homeopathy, 9
(8%) for conventional medicine.
* Homeopathy is effective for acute upper respiratory tract infections (odds ratio 036
[95% CI 026–050]), based on 8 trials without indications for bias. The Science of Homeopathy-Books and Research Compendiums
The Emerging Science of Homeopathy: Complexity, Biodynamics, and Nanopharmacology- Paolo Bellavite & Andrea Signorini
Italian physicians Paolo Bellavite and Andrea Signorini thoroughly examine previous and current literature on the science of homeopathy in order to discover answers to the elemental questions about homeopathy. Bellavite and Signorini engage in a fascinating discussion of the biophysics of water, biological effects of electromagnetic fields, chaos theory, and fractals.
Energy Medicine: The Scientific Basis- James L. Oschman
This book, written by a well-known scientist with a background in biophysics and biology brings together evidence from a range of disciplines to provide an acceptable explanation for the energetic exchanges that take place in all therapies. It addresses a growing interest in the field of mind-body medicine and the role of natural “energy forces” within the body in maintaining normal health and wellbeing. This in turn has lead to interest in how these energies or forces may be channelled to assist in healing and the restoration of normal health.
The Scientific Basis of Integrative Medicine- Leonard A. Wisneski
Provides doctors and other health practitioners with information on complementary and alternative approaches to health, that is authoritative, scientifically based, and epidemiologically substantiated. Written for doctors and healthcare professionals by pioneering practitioners and updated with the newest research across an increasing range of possibilities.
The Extracellular Matrix and Ground Regulation- Alfred Pischinger
The workings of the suitable environment for cells—called the extracellular matrix (ECM) and ground regulation—has occupied the European medical tradition since the early part of the 20th century. As it has become more clear that the origin of disease and its first signals register in the connective tissue, or myofascia, cellular pathologists and biochemists have sought to circumscribe networks of cell communication and microcirculation in the ECM.
Alfred Pischinger (1899-1982) continued this line of work by further studying, in work published from 1926 through the late seventies, the connections of the ECM to the hormonal and autonomic systems. In the last twenty years Professor and Doctor of Natural Sciences Hartmut Heine and his colleagues have carried on Pischinger’s work, here summarized in one volume. Part One encompasses theoretical underpinnings; Parts Two and Three address applications and directions for further research.
This updated English-language translation not only is an account of the work of Pischinger’s successors—Heine, Otto Bergsmann, and Felix Perger, (the three editors of this volume) and their many colleagues—but notes the positive development of complementary therapies based on this understanding of histology. Acupuncture and homeopathy are referenced directly. Both in Europe and the States the work of manual therapists, including Rolfers, cranio- sacral therapists, and other somatic disciplines have been informed for many years by Pischinger’s outsider model of how changes in the ECM register in the central nervous system and the brain, and are conveyed back to the periphery and connected organs. Heine’s exciting recent work shows that the regulation and construction of the ECM have relationships to cybernetic non-linear systems and phase transitions.
Biological and Medical Aspects of Electromagnetic Fields (Handbook of Biological Effects of Electromagnetic Fields)- Frank S. Barnes, Ben Greenebaum
Biological and Medical Aspects of Electromagnetic Fields examines potential health hazards, exposure standards, and medical applications of electromagnetic (EM) fields. This book draws from the latest studies on the effects of exposure to electric and magnetic fields. In addition to extensive reviews of physiological effects, the book contains now separate reviews of behavioral and cognitive responses to various exposures. The book also describes an approach to setting standards for exposure limits and explores a few of the beneficial uses of EM fields in medical applications, both diagnostics and in treatment. Biological and Medical Aspects of Electromagnetic Fields provides a practical overview of the experiments and methods used to observe ELF and RF fields and the possible useful and hazardous implications of these observations.
Signals and Images: Contributions and Contradictions about High Dilution Research-Leoni Villano Bonamin
The GIRI – Groupe International de Recherche sur l´Infinitésimal – was created in 1986 with the aim to gather researchers toward the high dilution questions, such as hormesis, isopathy, homeopathy and the phenomenological and conceptual differences among them. This is the only international scientific society organised exclusively to promote multidisciplinary forums about these subjects. Since 1990, a series of books titled “Signals and Images” has been published regularly by the initiative of Prof. Madeleine Bastide (1935-2007), containing the synthesis of most interesting lectures presented in the GIRI annual symposiums. This third volume “Signals and Images – Contributions and Contradictions about High Dilution Research” is a legacy from Prof. Madeleine Bastide to the GIRI members. Is a portrait of the GIRI scientific activities, which have been built to strengthen high dilutions and homeopathy through rigorously managed high-level research. It was organised in six parts: epistemology, experimental research / biology, experimental research / physics, clinical research, veterinary research and practice and an epilogue. All chapters were submitted to peer-review. To read it is an interesting way to reach up-to-dated knowledge about High Dilution Research, that has been developed in different parts of the world.
The Memory of Water- Michel Schiff
This work tells the story of the persecution of Jacques Benveniste, a French scientist whose career was frustrated when he tried to expand the horizons of traditional science. His research provided an explanation for one of the great mysteries of medical science – the working of homoeopathy. This book explores the witch hunt that was carried out against Beveniste and examines the way that, historically, science has vilified those considered heretics, only to canonize them years later.
The Body Electric- Robert Becker M.D.
The Body Electric tells the fascinating story of our bioelectric selves. Robert O. Becker, a pioneer in the filed of regeneration and its relationship to electrical currents in living things, challenges the established mechanistic understanding of the body. He found clues to the healing process in the long-discarded theory that electricity is vital to life. But as exciting as Becker’s discoveries are, pointing to the day when human limbs, spinal cords, and organs may be regenerated after they have been damaged, equally fascinating is the story of Becker’s struggle to do such original work. The Body Electric explores new pathways in our understanding of evolution, acupuncture, psychic phenomena, and healing.
